The USDA Forest Service is preparing to advertise an agency-wide vacancy announcement for the student summer internship positions on USAJOBS in February. The application period may be only 4-6 days, so it will be imperative that students be prepared to react quickly and get their application submitted before the deadline.
Tips for students from the USDA Forest Service:
- Check www.USAJOBS.gov in the “Student and Recent Graduate” section regularly for the next several weeks.
- All students must have an account set up in USAJOBS with resume, transcript(s), letters of recommendation, and all other supporting documentation. Students can contact NMSU Career Services at #575-646-1631 for resume assistance.
- Apply for positions that match their academic and career goals and choose what duty locations they’re willing to accept. Note: there are over 700 work locations across the nation. Again, students should be encouraged to be mobile, which will help increase their internship opportunities.
